Daqing Airport is now open. Services are pretty limited and not cheap. A flight from Beijing is about 1,200 Yuan, so if you are looking to do it a bit cheaper it is still better to fly to Harbin and then bus (3 hours direct from airport) or train (1 and 1/2 hours from Harbin) to Daqing.
Accommodation can be had in Daqing for as little as 50 Yuan / night (very basic) or you pay 150 - 200 for a decent 2 *** - 3 ***. there is a good selection of Chinese food to be had. Lots of good food from all over China (I.E. you are not confined to N. Eastern cuisine. A good meal for two in a good restaurant (with picture menus - useful for non-Chinese) would be about 120 Yuan (including enough beer / bai jo to get you happy). Noodle restaurants are 5 - 10 Yuan per person and good cheap food is easy to find (though Chinese would be useful).
