I think the best way to solve the gmail problem is to set up an outlook account in your computer. In this way, you can receive emails anywhere in China.

P.S.: I have problems to log in gmail sometimes.

You may visit www.google.hk and log in your gmail account. As someone said, it might not be stable sometimes.

Correct Google is being strenuously blocked with intermittent access if you hve the time to be persistent .

A VPN will solve the problem so if you are visiting China please consider alternative email address or use of VPN to eliminate problms

I tried some free vpn proxies. They were not stable. I don't know if you use ipad, iphone, android phones or laptops. For laptops, you may try to configure Go agents provided by Google. It works well with Chrome browser. If you use apple products, you may buy VPN service from Apple store. For android phones, please try to use fqrouter. You can find them on the internet.
