 | I am considering a teaching position with Ameson Institute in Nanjing. I was wondering if anyone has any knowlege of this school and can tell me what the school is like. Thanks |

| GUEST12217 | I've taught in Shenyang (3 years) which is not a great place to be in winter. However, there are schools in China that will hire-sight unseen because it makes the school look good if an American (foreigner) is teaching there. It can be a marketing tool for the school. |

| GUEST17118 | Laura (the woman above) has quit. Ameson is a scam that does nothing but ruin kids lives. It offers AP programs and has worthless administrators like Tommy Zhong that do absolutely nothing and don't support teachers. They have been sued by many ex-teachers for things such as breach of contract. They are notorious for sending teachers throughout different parts of China without notice or empathy of their situations. If you don't know what Ameson is I can tell you. They are not a school directly but go to host schools and provide teachers. Many times the schools are full of students that couldn't do well on the high school examination and are in the program because the parents are desperate to get them into a college. They think western colleges are easier than eastern colleges. As a teacher your scores at the end of the year do not matter and the kids don't really care. What matters is that the kids like you personally and Ameson keeps making money. (They are for profit they are lying) Ameson is a dictatorship by a complete moron (his name is Sean) and no one really does their job. Don't leave America for them. Get a job at an international school. At least international schools have curriculums and are certified. Something Ameson is not. |
