Bad experiences with and impressions of "Ameson".
I can relate to many of the bad experiences mentioned already here.
I sent an application and had an initial telephone interview.
They gave me the impression they were very keen to hire me and scheduled a second telephone interview to assess my ability in my chosen subject.
Prior to the second telephone interview, they sent me a contract of employment.
The day before the subject interview, they sent an e-mail to say that they would have to cancel the arranged time, as the English literature "specialist", Tom, based at the Nanjing office, had been called to a meeting!
I called back to establish when I could have the interview. The telephone etiquette was appalling in more ways than one. Suffice it to say, I was put on hold only to be answered by Tom himself. He proceeded in an extremely aggressive manner, hurrying me to have the subject interview immediately. I explained that I was actually at work and was calling to reschedule the interview.
He said it would only take a few minutes so I agreed to have the interview at that moment.
After he had conducted the interview, he told me that someone would contact me.
A week went by and I called to find out the situation.
They told me they had decided I would not have been happy in that position. They encouraged me to apply for another position with them later in my career.
No thanks.
Summary:
Unprofessional conduct to send a contract before the decision has been made.
Rude telephone manner.
General impression of Ameson: disorganized and uncaring.
General impression of the "AP" courses for Chinese students: not beneficial for the students.
I wish the best for the students. They deserve a better service.
