GUEST11333 Hello,

Can you please give me exact info on where to go at the South station when Im coming in by taxi/shuttle bus 7. I will take the K511 train to Hangzhou at 9.50. I've already bought the tickets.

Does the K511 leave from building 1 or 2?
Im coming in from Pudong on a Monday morning around 8 o'clock. How much do you think I will save time by taking taxi instead of shuttle no. 7?

Thanks a lot for your answers!

Building 1 or 2? What do you mean? There's only 1 main building for Shanghai South train station.
I think it's a bit too optimistic to rush for a train leaving at 0950 if your flight is arriving at Pudong airport at 0800. Due to the H1N1 temperature checks on incoming passengers (before you even leave the plane), I would expect to exit the airport no earlier than 0900 if not 0930. Even if you have a vehicle and driver waiting to whisk you off, there's no way you'd make it to the South train station in time, at least 40 mins (assuming no traffic jams!) journey time to get there.
If you have any more queries, email me at yahoo.com|ellyse99 and put "TravelChinaGuide" and your own username in the subject line, thanks.

GUESTERIC Dear Ellyse,
1. My wife will arrive in Pudong airport around 12 midnight. Any hotel you may recommend? Don't want to stay on expensive since we'll travel in Hangzhou early in the morning. Any idea on room rates?

2. As I read, the shuttle bus no.7 route is Shanghai south station to Pudong Airport. Where is this shuttle exactly located in South station?

Thank you very much for your help.
Eric

1) What price range are you exactly looking for? If you're planning to travel on to Hangzhou the next morning, one convenient way would be to stay at the Motel168 at Pudong airport, then take a direct bus from Pudong airport to Hangzhou the next morning. The earliest departure is at 1010, fare 100 RMB, journey time around 3 hours.

2) Look at the signs (yes they're also in English) around the train station for "bus" then try to find the right one.
