Hello! This is probably the best place to get some informations about Jiuzhaigou! I want to go there in May with a friend. We intend to stay at the local Tibetans inside the park. So we won't have to go back and re-entry the next day. Is it possible? Or is it allowed?Has anyone of you stayed there? Will we get problems by leaving the park? There is a fee of 220 yuan, probably for one day(?) So will your ticket be checked when you are leaving? Many questions!! Thank you for answering! Yours, Christine

Hi Christine, I read from other's review that you can stay at local Tibetan villages inside Jiuzhaigou. It's not allowed to stay at your own tent. If you are going to stay outside the valley, you can use the ticket the next day only if you took a pic at the ticket office when you buy the ticket. Avoid May 1 and Oct. 1 Holidays because you can not re-enter JZG at that periods of time. You can read more at http://www.jiuzhai.com/ Cheers,

Yes, I agree with May. If you come to Jiuzhaigou during the low season, the price will be much more lower.

I think we will arrive at Jiuzhaigou at the 14 th of May. Is it possible to re-enter the park at this time? (At the entrance, there will be taken a photo of us, so we can re-enter the park? Is it in that way?) How long can we stay inside the park, and will the ticket be checked by leaving? Still so many questions... Yours, Christine

Definitely no problem getting a 2-day ticket during that time. Yes, get your mugshot taken and printed on the back of the ticket so that you can re-enter on the 2nd day. The ticket won't be checked on exit (why would they need to?) but will be checked upon entry.

There're tons of places to stay outside the park gates, don't worry.

Chengdu: Panda Reserve, Sanxingdui Museum (http://www.sxd.cn), Jinli Old Street, Chunxi Lu pedestrian street (not very interesting to me as it pales in comparison to Shanghai's Nanjing Lu) etc

There's a hostel somewhere, not sure where it is. I think all the places are about as lousy as one another unless you're paying top dollar for a really good place. Our place was about 120 RMB/triple with ensuite, but lack of hot water...!
