Almost every Chinese knows this masterpiece of Cao Xueqin who was born in the Qing Dynasty. I think it is the best book for foreigners to know Chinese feudal society which has occupied a long time in Chinese history. On the other hand, there are lots of classic poems and writting skills involved in this book, it will be helpful for those ones who would like to explore the broad Chinese culture.

dear friends, how do you think about this book? Looking forward to knowing your ideas!

It is a good book, but I don't believe it is a suitable book for foreigners to read. Too difficult is it!

For foreigners, they can read a translated version firstly. Yang Xianyi and his British wife Dai Naidie have done a good research and work on translating this materpiece.
