is there a phrase book that will let me learn the "polite" words in China
have asked here and told that most people speak other than manderin

would appreciate some guidance here please and some info about how to conduct ones self correctly - usual dress - are shorts permitted. are there catholic churches around - when visiting a temple do you take off shoes. do men stand for women and older folk. - what to avoide that is offensive to locals.

regards peter

Might as well bring some aeroguard, it's still the best! I would also recomend an initial supply of anti-diarohea tablets.

I have had no injections. Health in any less developed country is always a risk...the hospitals seem 'ok' but the cleanliness...hmmmm! And claerly this country does not have the resources of Aus and standards are not the same. Having said that I was struck down with an illness in Aus in January and there is a possibility of a recurrance qhich will need hospital and a possible serious op - but I have returned anyway!
