Very right! So they often lost battles against more organized Kipchaks and Mongolians.

yup
Kipchaks owned rapid reaction, light armor and main weapon----bow.
I remember in the famous game (Microsoft) "Age of empires", Mongolians were so powerful, coz' they have speed to meet an emergency.

And also - good strategy and tactics. For example - a small group invade the main forces of the Latin empire, after that - run back. The Latins are starting to follow them and later the Kipchak-Bulgarian army is locking them, like a circle and killing them. This is a classical hun-turkic tactics. It was used by Turkut general, who helped Chinese in a battle in Korea against the Koreans.

The era of Chinese emperor Taicun. In this time Korea was 3 kingdoms. China has a war with the Northern one - Kogurio. Kogorio was in the aliance with the Manchurians (Muhe).
Chinese army was composed more with Turkic soldiers in this war than with Han-chinese.
The Tellesian Chinese army was ruled by the general KIBI HELI. The Turkutian Chinese army was ruled by the general ASHINA SHENI. The Chuyue Chinese army was ruled by general ASHINA MISHE. All of them were Turkic-Altaic people. Another Turkic-Altais general - ASHINA SIMO was close to the Chinese emperor.
The supreme generals of this Chinese army were han-chinese LI ZI and ZHANG LIANG.

THE TURKUT (TU JUE) GENERAL ASHINA SHENI used that tactics took in aa trap Korean-Manchurian army and then Chinese won. 2 500 Korean leaders were taken in China, 30 000 Korean soldiers were sent back to their homes and 3 000 manchurians were killed.
