Have you ever given your seat to others on the bus?

I was taught from childhood to respect my elders and to give my seat to the elderly, pregnant women. At that point in history, men would commonly give their seat to any woman as a matter of courtesy.

Times have really changed.

Yes, I always give up my seat on a bus to a senior. Always. And to woman with young kids, as in real young kids. It can be hard enough standing on a crowded bus without having to also handle a young one, say under the age of 5. Older than that, and I will agree with a previous post in saying that I resist / resent handing over my seat so that a young kid, who is perfectly capable of standing, can sit down while mom / grandma, and now me, stand.
