Things like: "comfortable as an old shoe (or boot)" - can be used in many ways to describe relationships; feelings about a place; or even feelings about a product "knee high to a grasshopper" - often used to tell a child they are not big enough yet or to refer back to your age when something happened "there is a lid for every pot" - often said to people when they are frustrated that they cannot find a boyfriend or girlfriend "not the sharpest tack in the box" - a reference that a person is not very smart "You poor dear" - often said by gracious, older women raised in the confederate south of the USA and literally means, "You stupid fool" So does China have similar sayings? I'm certain there must be many of them.
