How to say some compliments to a Chinese people? Usually, we Chinese don't express our feelings directly in the public. But if you are good friends, you may say so.

e.g.
You are so kind. = 你真好(Ni 3 Zhen 1 Hao 3).
好(Hao 3) is a widely used character. We can use it to describe someone, also something.
We can also say 你太好了(Ni 3 Tai 4 Hao 3 Le). 太****了 means Very, extremely.

When complimenting a female friend, you may say 你很漂亮(Ni 3 Hen 3 Piao 4 Liang 4) which means You are very beautiful. When complimenting a male friends, you may say 你很帅(Ni 3 Hen 3 Shuai 4) which means You are very handsome. There are other good words for you to use:
强壮(Qiang 2 Zhuang 4): Strong
聪明(Cong 1 Ming 2): Clever, smart
幽默(You 1 Mo 4): Humorous
可爱(Ke 3 Ai 4): Cute, lovely

If you want to praise the food, you can say 真好吃(Zhen 1 Hao 3 Chi 1) which means Very delicious. If you want to praise a movie, you can say 很好看(Hen 3 Hao 3 Kan 4) or 太好看了(Tai 4 Hao 3 Kan 4 Le). If you want to praise a piece of music or song, you can say 很好听(Hen 3 Hao 3 Ting 1).

好+吃/看/听 here means Good to eat/watch or look/listen, you may also use other characters to instead of 吃/看/听.

Hearing your compliments, many of Chinese will say 哪里哪里(Na 3 Li 3 Na 3 Li 3) to show their humility, but not a Thank You. So don't be puzzled!
