hi, M0THRA, during May and October, people are crowded in the streets. Tian An Men Square, full of people. Xi Dan , full of people...other places , fuul of people. But there are still many people choosing to travel outside Beijing or China.

believe the advice about the crowds and booking in advance.... because it is even worse than you might imagine! I avoid travelling those weeks, but if you must, book in advance, book from overseas if you can. If you do need to make bookings while you are here, get local help - travel agents for planes and trains, ordinary locals for buses.. Oh, in these times, many buses leave at 7:30 am or just as soon as they are full regardless of normal timetables!

I hate crowds and noise but I am still here and plan to be for some time yet! So don't be put off!
