 | I know this thread has been around a lonbg time and will surely remain one of the most popular (unless TCG introduces a special forum). Buit I still laugh at the title of this thread - it reminds me of a recipe from my days in Papua New Guinea. Recipe for crocodile stew: Step one catch a crocodile! So, How to Marry a Chinese Girl...haha.. tho I guess one should use slightly different bait and traps. |

| GUEST15065 | Contact you embasy in Beijing and they will give you all the information you need. I am an American doing the same thing. We do not have a singles certificate eiher, but our embasy provided the document for me. The process is paper driven, so be prepared to stand in lines to get it all done. Be patient above all. | GUESTGUEST JAS | GUEST 37710 The first thing to do is to ensure a single status for both of you, if you've never married before you'll need a certificate of no impediment from your local registrar, a notice of marriage will be given then after 21 days you can collect your certificate, it will show both of your marital status single/divorced etc, respective names, addresses, place of birth and location where you will be married. This certificate will then have to go for legalisation & notarisation by the Foreign office then again by the Chinese embassy, this is so you don't need to wait 21 days in China to marry. You will now have 3 months to marry or redo the process. If you are divorced I am not the person to say what papers you must also have, or whether a decree absolute negates a cert of no impediment. Her hukou & ID should be update. For visa application...... http://www.uk.cn/ * Completed and signed visa application form * Signed passport * Correct fee * 1 recent passport photo (on white background) * Copy of sponsor's passport showing his/her immigration status in the UK * Family book, also known as Household Register or Hukou * Evidence of marriage and relationship (e.g. marriage certificate). * Divorce/death certificates (if appropriate). * Evidence of sponsor's employment in UK. * Sponsor's pay slips * Sponsor's bank statements (preferably 6 months worth) * Sponsor's P60 * Evidence of accommodation such as mortgage or rental payments * Utility bills. * Evidence of contact between applicant and sponsor (e.g. letters/telephone bills) * Evidence of savings and their history. * Please note that every deposit slip must be accompanied by a deposit certificate. I just got back from a 25 days stay in Shenyang where we got married and then applied for a settlement visa, yesterday she had an interview with the embassy in Beijing and collects her passport/visa today. It took us 2 weeks, of which 7 were working days, the other 7 days was waiting for an interview. And she was given her visa in 10 min. To help give you a barometer, I earn between 27k-30k and had a total of 10k in the bank with my current and savings, We are both also of similar age, she is 39 and 2 yrs older, also I showed a lot of constant contact of pictures, emails, yahoo webcam/messenger, letters, phone & previous meetings over the 2 years we've known each other. | GUEST60245 | ok another twist in this thread,can foreign student of china marry a chinese girl?is it allowed or not?My girl friend already got a visa of usa but she have to show that she is single to get that phucking visa ,now some months left before she will leave to usa.If i marrry her (official registered one)now here in china as she already got visa....will she be not allowed to go to usa? Another point,am not from usa......but her family gets visas to usa easily....grandfather,father,mother,sister,brother all get visa one by one and all her family memebers and relatives are living on usa for a long time now.....am not chinese,is it any possibility that after marrying her,i can be granted visa of usa? ps...folks do not think i am going to marry her for getting a green light for usa visa...we have a strong tie and unforgettable terribke pasts that can not separte us ...she must go to usa,a chance of life,i am in china in her home talking with her old grandma only left in her house now....phucking life. |

| Can anyone tell me how I will be able to get the Secretary of the State Office (I am from New Jersey) to certified the Affidavit of Single Status? Also, do I have to get everything done in New Jersey as I am a NJ resident, such as the notary for Affidavit of Single Status and NJ Secretary of the State Office? Is the process of getting the document to prove myself being single really so complicated? Is there like any agency that might take care it to prove you are single, such like travel agency? Thank you. |
