GUEST51133 hi
I have just married in china, what you need to do is go to the british consulate in England or Shanghai, Beijing etc inform them of your marriage you will both fill out a form witch is displayed for 21 days (giving notice of intent to marry, after 21 days you will receive a Notice of Intent (cost 1750rmb) it will be in chinese and english then you must go to the provence where the girl is registered there you will be married (220rmb) 2 days later you will have to return there to pick up the finished red book its that simple, good luck to you both

GUEST39133 Hey this is a pretty neat site and I was excited to see there is something like this so I can do some research. I'm probably starting this all wrong but anyway here goes. I'm very interested in meeting and very possibley marrying a woman from China but I have so many questions and don't want to set myself up for a huge disapointment. My biggest concern is what should I expect the cost to be start to finish, finish meaning having her here with me in the states. I know it will have many variables like how many trips and total time but what is the general idea? Second fear would be meeting the woman of my dreams, marrying her and then having to leave her there for a crazy amount of time until all the paper work is finished.
Comments from people who been through this would greatly apprecated.

GUEST04173 You must have met your fiance in person within 2 years.

You can have her visit or go visit her. I think they need to "waive" this one. You have 90 days to hang out together.

My 1st time on here. It looks like there's going to be some issues if my girlfriend (Chinese, Doctor) and I want to get married in Guangzhou then come back to the USA. I have a good job, money in savings, house, 401K (what's left of it)retirement from state government and soon from city government. We're both divorced. Can I accomplish the marriage and getting her back to the USA in 2 weeks?

GUESTWODE PI... I have found the love of my life... she fits me in every fashion... personality, interests, values, everything... the only problem is that she is in China, and I am in the USA now. I make a decent living and travel to Asia frequently, but am in no way overly wealthy. It looks as if most of these things are withing my financial means, but I was wondering if there was anyone there who has already gone through the process that might be able to council me personally as a coach.. and guide me through. We are very much in love, young, and patient enough to wait.. although impatient to be together. I have read much here... but would rather be in communication with someone who has had the good fortune to make the whole process a reality. Please respond.. and we can work out contact detail...

GUEST11371 Alot of people wanting to go to China, get married, then bring them back to their home country.

What about someone (me), that would like to go out to China, get married and live with her there? Is that easier, can I stay in China then? I also plan to work as an english teacher too.

Guest11371. It is relatively easy if you have a university degree. It is not easy to work in China without one. Regarding getting married in China. It is easy, but being married to a Chinese person will not entitle you to stay here. You can still only apply for an L visa for visiting family, although they are issued for longer periods.
