According to what I read, UK will admit your marriage is legal unless you notarize your Chinese marriage certificate. But the wife might meet some trouble when she opens an bank account, buy propertities etc. If possible, why not get married in the UK? |

| GUESTPHHILIP | I am getting married to a Chinese citizen in June. She has just come here on a marriage visitor visa because that is what we were advised to do by the UK embassy external visa agency in China. They said on 4 separate occassions that we could then apply for a marriage visa as soon as we were married from within the UK. We have just contacted the UK Border agency in UK ( what a hastle that was) and have been told this information is wrong and that Hong Yan my wife to be in 3 weeks must return to China to apply for a Spouse visa and this will take 90 days. This is a devastating disaster. Can anyone give advise on what to do - is there no way that we could contact the Home Office as it was the Embassy in China that gave wronmg advise 4 times. Why do we have to suffer because of their mistakes? Does anyone know how we can apply for the visa from the UK? |
