I have ever read a survey which states: in most cases, the children who grow up in single-parent family are prone to becoming juvenile delinquents since they lack sound love from the parents. A broken family can not provide a sound environment for the kids to grow up.

As to your statement that "People who say "marriage changes everything" are really making an understatement", I don't think so. Marriage does change something but not everything. The true love can stand up to the test of marriage.
