Compared with military personnels, budgets, airforce power, landpower, nuclear power etc, which nation do you think is the strongest in the world? Do your have an ranking of Top Ten military nations in the world?

What I wanna do is to make a survey. The purpose is to know which nation is the strongest in the world (military power)? Better list your reasons.

Thanks,Cali. General speaking, you have listed almost all the military powers in today's world. But why did you put China at the bottom?

Of course spending and military strength are not necessarily equivalent, and $60bn spent in China probably has a much bigger bang for buck potential than the same ammount spent in the US.

Other sources seem to put China's spending lower (closer to $50bn for the year analysed above, and fourth ranked), and state US spending to be increasing and reaching $529bn by 2006 (44% of global total).

of interest as well - of all the mighty powers you suggest have any of them won anything at all for all that effort for say the last fifty years ???
it seems like big boys toys and multi millions for the weapons dealers.
