Kaiping Diaolous and villages inscribed on World Heritage List

Travelkid, did you go to Kaiping to visit Diaolou? Are they as beautiful as Mirandazhao said?

i would give a three-star rating... it's a blend of chinese and 'imported' architecture of fortified watchtowers and residences. The landscape is ok but the diaolous are worth visiting, in combination of other places in a southern trip. The villagers are very hospital and talkative, food is mediocre, accommodation, if necessary is better in nearby ZIangmen
