GUESTPADDYSLEG I think it very much depends on the culture you are brought up in as to whether you find something funny of not. I hail from Ireland originally and we all have a great sense of humor... i think "paddy irishman" has been around for sometime now...

i think the Americans have a good sense of humour but find their comedy to be very canned and slapstick (although robin williams has to be one of the funniest people on the planet!)

i think british humor is much more plain but this makes it more "real" as one can usually relate to it.

for example there was a long running very successful comedy in the UK called "Only fools and horses" which followed the daily lives of two brothers trying to get ahead by selling dodgy goods (if you haven't seen it, you should try to!)

to an extent, Australia, where i currently reside, is also a form of that humor, because it was colonised by the brits, and share the same level of what british humor is.

Hence, from my perspective, Irish, British and Australian Humour are all very alike.

But again, it all depends on where you hail from and what your own perspective of what is funny and what is not, it's what makes us all individual! :)

GUEST36203 the british without a doubt!! You only have to look at our down to earth, 'real' but brilliantly dry and subtle comedies such as fools and horses, peep show, the office... (i could go on and on) to see that. Americans don't tend to understand irony o sarcasm in the same way from my experience- hence their comedies are all based on slapstick humour. Their version of the office for example was terrible! i've lived in many places around the world and have missed British style comedies everywhere I've lived. Australians have a similar sense of humour but not such good comedies.

GUEST36203 further to my above post though i do believe general sense of humour to be very similar worldwide, for example I have found some hilarious people wherever I've been- just that British produce by far the best comedies!! :-D

GUEST19959 I just can't seem to laugh at American humor. I don't find their form of comedy remotely funny.
British humor is quite funny, but I'd definitely have to say Australian humor is the most funniest!! I know we are similar to the British, but I just love how we can joke about anything and everything without an offensive connotation and just "take the piss" out of it. God i love Kath & Kim.

I hate to say it, I think the most comical culture.. is most likely going to be your own... because one relates best to their own house...
