travel from Hangzhou via Wuzhen to Shanghai - how?

SPANNER07 Points: Join Date: Jul 5, 2007 Status: offline	Hi, I will be staying in Hangzhou for a few days shortly, then traveling to Shanghai to meet a friend. On the way I would really like to visit Wuzhen. Idealy I would like to leave Hangzhou in the morning, visit Wuzhen for the day, then travel to Shanghai. Is this possible, and if so, what might the approximate cost be? Many thanks for any help you can offer!

BBQQ Points: Join Date: Feb 7, 2007 Status: Offline	Yes, you can. Take the bus at Hangzhou East Station, you can arrive at Wuzhen after 50 mins. But it seemed that there's no bus from Wuzhen to Shanghai in the afternoon and evening. So, you may take a busto Jiaxing first, and then transfer a train or bus to Shanghai.

JABAROOTOO Points: Join Date: Jul 4, 2005 Status: Offline	No bus schedules online. Best option is as soon as you arrive in Wuzhen. Find out what time the buses leave to Jiaxing or even Suzhou (not sure how close but there is good commuter transport to Shanghai from there at least) And then you can relax and buy the ticket and come back to the station just before the bus leaves. I do this often and it is the only practical way is most places.

Hi, Spanner,

Just provide another routine solution for your reference or you can choose:

1) You take direct train from Hangzhou to Shanghai firstly to meet your friend.

2) In Shanghai, there is a travel center which locate in Shanghai stadium (in Xu jia hui district), you can buy the back and forth direct bus ticket between Shanghai and Wuzhen, then it will be more easy for you to go Wuzhen .

Btw, also you have friend in Shanghai, so you can ask your friend to take you to the travel center.
