I am a Canadian, currently planning and preparing for my trip to China. My departure date is Sep. 17 and staying until Oct.07. I am currently browsing through my visa application form and need suggestions on how to answer the question pertaining to "Names and addresses of companies or persons to visit in China ( include telephone No.) The purpose of my trip is to finally meet in real life a wonderful Chinese lady that I had met online back in Jan of 2007. I will be arriving in Nanning where she is meeting me and then through the course of the trip will be visiting her family in Liuzho and will also be spending time in Guilin. My question is how specific should I be in answering this, will names of hotels that I am staying at be sufficient?

Although we are coming from UK we were asked the same questions on our application forms but we just put general places ie Beijing etc, rather than people we intend meeting.

A downloaded form is normally ok but make sure you get a form from the website of the country you are applying in as it seems there is some variation. Alternatively ask in a local travel agent, preferably one that seriously offers tours to China.

However, you will either have take the form in yourself, get a friend to do it, or use an agent. Agents have forms or wil get them, if you go yourself you can get it at the consulate, but if it's to be a friend you will need to get one first.

"Agent": In some countries there are agents who only deal in visa applications, in other countries many travel agents do this. The ones I am familiar with: UK has specialist agents, Australia has both, HK has both, in Macau use a travel agent, inside China Mainland itself there are a few specialist agents.

You can use the website belowmentioned for your visa application form: http://form.visarite.com/visarite/China_visa_form/Q-2007.pdf. It is from an agent, Visarite in the USA but I used the similar form for my L visa application in Malaysia.
