Hello!

I am off to Hong Kong mid august and then moving on to Xian. Is there any travel agency in Hong Kong that can purchase train ticket from Guangzhou to Xian? Would it be easy to purchase the said ticket 2 days before departure. I am good with hard sleep or hard seat.
Online booking is rather expensive.
Thanks all.

I would not recomment hard seat travel. It is often very crowded with people standing. On one trip I couldn't even get to my booked seat it was so crowded! Get hard sleeper or soft seat (similar price) as they do not have standing.

There's no direct train from HK to Xian so you have to go to the Guangzhou train station.

I think CITS in Hong Kong will be able to help purchase Guangzhou -- Xi'an train tickets but they do charge a commission.

For traveling from Macau to Shanghai, you can first go to Guangzhou or kowloon in Hong Kong, and then take the train to Shanghai. It will take nearly 17 hours from Guangzhou to Shanghai. The price for the hard seat is about CNY 200, and about 380 for the hard sleeper.
