This year's Xian City Wall International Marathon will be held on Nov. 3, 2007! It is said that there will be only two groups in this year's match, male and female. And the winner will get a 6,000 yuan award. The second and third will get 4,000 yuan and 2,000 separately. The local TV station will also broadcast it.

I love it! I wish I could go. I rode a bicycle on the Xi'an wall just last month and I miss it. What a great city.

GUEST07160 The race takes place on the first Saturday of November. You have to go to the Sports Stadium in the NE of the City opposite revolution Park. There is a grand entrance on the right of the stadium itself and you can make your entry up until two weeks before the event. The following week you go agaiin to collect number and running vest. there are usually three events, a Fun Run a 5km and the full lap of 13.7km. There is a team event. the start is spearated by colours on vests (red yellow blue). Foreigners are a little bit feted. The charge for me in 2007 was only ¥20, which is the same as the fee to go on the wall at any time of year. There are no finishing medals, there is precious little support and if you find any results, let me know. In 2007 CCTV 5 gave live coverage; the front runners of the full lap (it is a whole third of a proper marathon) were true internationals in the sense that they run for China. Since I was the first non-Chinese to finish, and I am over 50, then describing this as an International is a bit of a stretch.
