 | hehe, The American magzine 'Readers Digest' rencently had a test on the most honest city in the world! They put 30 new cellphones in the busy public area of 32 cities, to see how many will be returned in each city. Ljubljana: 29 was returned. Toronto: 28 was returned. Seoul: 27 were returned. Stockholm: 26 were returned. New York, Mumbai, Manila: 24 were returned. Paris: 21 London and Sydney: 19 Moscow: 17 Singpore: 25 Kuala Lumpur: 13 Is it exact? : O ) |

| I'm surprised any got returned at all, Maybe the model of phone wasn't very good! In parts of London you will get mugged for your phone if you're not careful. |

| I found one once, I waited for a while and when it rang I answered. The person phoning was the owner and I took it back to them. They didnt even say thank you !! I wish I had thrown it in a bin. |

| As a survey they should have checked on the variability of the test by putting out the same number of phones in the same city in different days / times and different parts of the city... 3:1 variability may be insignificant compared to the variablity in this kind of test..... I think they were trying to do a survey of honesty on the cheap.... maybe reader's digest need to look to their own integrity in publishing this kind of stuff. Its just light entertainment value at best. |

| Agree with you Mike. Not much to go on there. While I know so many people here in China who have lost their mobile phones including my sister, after just 4 weeks. I left mine in a foot massage joint one night and was nearly an hour going back for it after I realized. The staff had tried to call one of my friends and then locked it in the safe. I was very relieved and grateful to have had it returned. I find a level on honesty amongst the people here that is refreshing on one hand but there is still a need to be cautious of theft all the time. |
