Have you ever heard of the " Mistress Phenomenon"? Litteally, the ' Mistress Phenomenon" refers to " Bao Er Nai"(包二奶), which means keeping a second wife outside in Cantonese. In other words, a man provide economic and financial support for his mistress. Nowadays, the "Mistress Phenomenon " has become increasingly common in China. Many men including business tycoons, party and governmental officials, are engaging in "keeping mistress", which has led to the split-up of many families. Of course, the men who engaged in 'mistress phenomenon' are mostly rich, since providing financial support for the mistress is the key words of the concept of "Mistress Phenomenon". Some women claimed that "when a man becomes rich, he is certain to become bad". Is that true? If so, should all men stay in poverty? Haha, what do you think?

Not all rich guys are bad, and not all poor guys are good. You should know better than making generalizations like that. Keeping mistresses is not a recent phenomenon. It's been going on for thousands of years by Chinese and foreigners alike. What's the big deal?

It might have gone on for thousands of years but for me it's morally wrong, some religions allow it, when I marry my future wife I will be happy to love her and her alone.

Yes, WESTNORWOODGAS, Muslim family law allow it with some strong condition to follow. Difficult o follow that conditions. So people wants to keep them in dark and did not flash about second wife, even third or so on. Some time they using other words in place of the word "wife". When people in dark, they have no way to go straight path and making mistake, causes family destroy.

I think it is wrong and something that would not interest me. I give all my love and attention to one woman, I feel that nowadays it is hard to find a good partner so cherish them.

Some religions permit it. So the right or wrong of it is difficult to know. I would expect it to be terribly distracting it done outside of a religious/cultural environment that allows it. I have never had a mistress but can appreciate the appeal of it. I would never risk a relationship with a good and loving wife for a little fun. Maybe keeping a mistress implies that the men do not have a relationship with a good and loving wife?

I think you are right, if you are happy in your relationship then why need another woman? and if you are unhappy in your relationship why continue with it?

Well, sometimes, people are inclined to prefer the new and be tired of the old. When you and your wife lived together for a longer time, you might be tired of your marriage, as I have mentioned in my post "How to handle Mid-life crisis", who you are at the age of 40s, you may experience the Mid-life crisis.

Both the man and his mistress just take advantage of each other. They can get what they want from each other. Some women claimed that "when a man becomes rich, he is certain to become bad". Personaly, I think that most of the men will become bad when they are rich. If you need not struggle for living and lead a very comfortable life, what do you expect? You need to find something that can bring you more excitement. Thus, some of the rich men choose to have a mistress.

It is true that many rich men keep several mistresses. The prevalence of "Mistress phenomenon" is the expression of the moral decline of some rich Chinese. WhIle some girls are willing to be mistress, because they viewed it as a shortcut to make a good living. That is it, though mistress phenomenon is different from 'skin business'.
