GUEST98188 Audrey forever and GUEST34096 you are entitled to your opinion but at least try basing it on some actual facts you clearly don't know anything about Audrey Hepburn. GUESTLAURA Thank you for correcting this with facts :)

GUEST54192 Hepburn was more fun and childlike and she was being herself with respect where as Marilyn Monroe was pretty but she was fake, she was trying too hard to live up to people expectations and played as a dumb blond whereas Hepburn was always smart in every way, so Hepburn for me.

GUEST24219 I like both, they're both completely different. I think Marilyn was the best performer - Audrey wasn't a brilliant actress in my opinion, and couldn't sing well, although she could dance. Both had charm, beauty and likeability, and have become style icons. If I had to pick one I'd probably choose Audrey as my favourite, as she was so modest, kind, classy and very quirky.

GUEST21975 Audrey Hepburn has to be one of THE MOST overrated actresses ever. She played the same person in every movie-she never would even change her hairstyle-always with those fugly bangs-like a 12 year old boy-she played a Russian in War and Peace and had her snobby English aristocrat accent the whole time-her demeanor is more arrogant than classy-she was a skeleton so NO figure whatsoever-she started the "waif" look because she looked like a starving little boy from a concentration camp-only cleaned and spit polished dripping in pretentious jewelry, furs and heavy make-up-this is why the gay men found her so attractive-I watch her "classic" movies and am just floored that she is regarded as a "great actress" she played her herself no variation-the movie going public was pretty illiterate at that time so I guess they thought her pretentiousness was class-always paired with much older leading men -and always her character was sooo enlightening and clever that these older men where capitaved by her brains-while she just babbled nonsense-in an accent of course-the same accent no matter what role she played-it was her dedication to being a coat hanger that was her claim to fame-always the latest fashions and jewels dripping off her anorexic, skeletal body-sh looked kind of freaky if the got the wrong angle on her if you look at her promo shots all are from the same angle with her faec in the same position-so if we are rating her on what a fashion cow she was then she was the best-she translated dressing for success into success but really no substance in actual talent-she looked good all made up on the giant screen because she was ungodly thin and a perfect coathanger and make-up sponge-really most of the credit should go to Max Factor and CoCo Chanel

GUESTJO @ GUEST21975 hahaha wow, can we say JEALOUS MUCH? Not one thing you said was remotely true. I don't blame you for being envious of such a perfect-looking woman who was the epitome of class, had a far hotter body than you could ever dream of, more talent, sex appeal, health, intelligence, and sophistication in her little finger than you in your whole hateful body. her acting could've used more range but considering she took no classes and was going on pure instinct alone, that's a heck of a lot more impressive than this little jealousy act you're playing.

and can I add that you're not remotely on topic? this isn't a thread for jealous overweight girls who know they lack her natural, exotic beauty to rant about stuff they just now made up about her after taking one look at her face and immediately deciding they hate her gorgeous guts. well, too bad. seek counseling before your lardy, insecure butt ends up killing itself like Marilyn's did, even though you probably haven't gone through anything worse than Daddt not telling you he thinks you're pretty and Bobby saying he doesnt want to go out with such an ugly, ugly-hearted girl. Ta!

and to show even nasty, green-with-envy girls like you deserve grace too, here's some words from Audrey:

“For beautiful eyes, look for the good in others; for beautiful lips, speak only words of kindness; and for poise, walk with the knowledge that you are never alone.”
"I am not beautiful. My mother once called me the ugly duckling. But listed seperately, I have a few good features."
"Happiest girls are the prettiest girls." hmm, maybe this one especially you could think about and apply to yourself? =D

GUEST86137 I am a huge Marilyn Monroe fan as well as an Audrey fan. Marilyn portrays a bubbly character that doesn't fit the role in Breakfast at Tiffany's. Audrey played the role very well. I admit that even though Marilyn is my favorite, Audrey would have been better. They both play innocent roles. Example~ "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes" - Marilyn played an innocent gold digger in this film. Audrey isn't the choice men would have chosen which makes her perfect for this role. Men would have prefered Marilyn. Audrey is trustworthy and prefered by women, because most women cannot compare to Marilyn Monroe. Marilyn makes most women jealous, Audrey does not. Breakfast at Tiffany's is a chick flick! Therefore women prefer Audrey.

GUEST52166 Marilyn was a terrible actress who relied on her looks and her scandals to become an icon.
Audrey went through great depths when researching characters and put on one of the best cinematic performances ever in The Nun's Story. She came in and changed everything with her gamine look. Before Audrey, everyone wanted to be a luscious Marilyn but Audrey came in with a lanky body and made that the new ideal.
Audrey basically revolutionized american looks and fashion ; where as in the 50's stars and models like Marilyn dominated the pin up, curvy look, now models are set to be skinny and tall. She also completely revolutionized fashion and set the basics for 20th century fashion i.e. the little black dress, minimalism, clean, cut looks that are now dominating the runway. Everyone tries to be an Audrey now!

I choose Monroe.
Though I am a girl myself.
I think it's unfair for Monroe to be marked by just sexy throughout the time!
She is so pretty and in some way innocent, lovely.
she has showed a real self in front of the world.
