Hi SHESGOTTOBE. No matter what people do, we shouldn't look down or discriminate them. The guy you mentioned should be proud of himself because he can cook well and serve people.

DREAMLIFE, I watched No Reservations. This movie is very interesting.

Carlos, it is a tough task to be a cook in the restaurants or hotels. It is physical work so that less women can survive.

GUESTHELEN Quote:"BTW, Have you noticed that almost cooks in those restaurants or hotels are male?

Yes, it is true that most cooks in those hotels or restaurants are men. Why no girls? They care about their skin too much. To stay in the kitchen for a long time hurts their skins a lot and makes them older. That is why those girls do not like cooking."

You are right, Dreamlife. I am that kind of girl who just want to enjoy food delicacies but not cook them myself. Well, I would like to learn to cook some dishes for my BF though I don't like cooking. Why? I wanna he feel my love for him. Of course, if he can cook, it is better.

Guesthelen, I will marry a girl just like you. Cooking for your lover is a happy thing. Have you all here heard or these words? If you want to win a woman's heart, you first should catch her stomach. That means you can cook some delicious dishes. Is this true?

GUESTBOY ALOK , your question is hard to answer because I havn't found any good reasons for why men shouldn't cook. Perhaps, some men perceive that cooking is women's responsibility. As a man, he should work outside to support his family. That is ok.

We have a friend from Hong Kong who never learned to cook. She would just go downstairs to the street and buy something from a vendor.
Chinese and American cooking are very different from each other. Americans who marry foreign girls find that they will almost never get a home cooked meal like their own mother would make. Chinese do not bake and they do not know simple things like making a sandwich. Cheese, whether on a pizza or with crackers disgusts them. Ice cream, soda, puddings, after dinner dessert and cold beverages just never pop up on lists of things to buy when food shopping. I have been married over ten years and my wife has only cooked steak twice - both times because I bought the beef. Once I bought a steak and she sliced it up into little pieces ans stir fried it with vegetables! If I don't go shopping with her, I won't have foods I like. I get tired of having soups and stir fried vegetables all year. Ofttimes it is "you make your food, I'll make my food."
Chinese food is OK once in a while but when I'm driving home from work thinking about supper I don't think of having stringbeans dripping with oil and watery tomato & lettuce soup.
we get along because I don't force her to eat "my" food and she only sometimes forces me to eat her food.
