To all the recent posts... there is little checking. It makes little difference whether you list your minor offences or not.

However, GUEST77130. ...I consider it rather silly to stir the pot. No-one is interested in your conscience, but if there is a rule that says people who have changed their statement will be queried or denied, the the bureaucrats will apply the rules. Just keep mum.

GUEST87220 does it make a difference if you list your "major" offenses?

GUEST87220 Has anyone here checked "no" when they had a record? Please be honest. I want to know if you got through.

GUEST53184 Thanks for your tale. I will check yes, and tell the truth about my silly misdemeanor. Hopefully by the time I apply for a Z visa, it will be off my record.

GUEST87220 Why aren't people here listening? Just simply put "no". What's so hard about that?

GUEST53184 I read the thread, I am listening. Lying is what got me my stupid misdemeanor...why would Iie again when there is a chance of them finding out? There is a chance isn't there? Or are people saying there is basically no chance? What would happen theoretically if they caught me in that lie? Why should I sit on the plane for 20 hours wondering if there is a chance?

Apologies: the fundamental message in the thread is that you can choose either option. So if u r going to worry, declare your history.
