GUESTLUKE GUEST06106, you'd better check NO on your application form. No one from the visa office will check it. And you will get no chance to get a visa to China once you check YES on the form.

GUEST01407 I am due to apply for my visa in a couple of weeks but am very worried about getting it. I was convicted of an internet sexual offence for which I feel very guilty in 2004. Should I disclose this or stay quiet?

GUESTWANDERL... RE: GUEST01407 and GUEST18974 and GUEST06106

Did you get your visa? Did you check yes or no? I have the same dilemna. I asked a visa agency to handle my visa, but due to the long national holiday, I won't get my passport (hopefully, with the visa in it!) back until Wednesday or Thursday (10/07/2010). I haven't heard either way from the agent...

No news is good news?

I'm on pins & needles.

GUEST42174 Hi all. I am guest 1407. I have gone for a 'no' and am due to collect my visa on Weds. I hope I have done the right thing. I made a mistake some years ago which i very much regret and simply want to get on with my life. I hope I dont now get prevented from entering China?

My expediter told me he would call me back quickly if there was ever an issue. I've checked yes 2 times so far without problems.

GUEST71194 great thread. i wish similar forums/thread could be posted on similar questions for traveling to Europe or Australia. i have looked all over the net, no such forum exists except for a few "paranoid" law-abiding citizens who are "perfect" in life and never done anything wrong (ever) suggesting that you have to answer "YES" in visa applications for Europe and Australia.
if anyone has recent experience(s) with Europe or Australia (or could recommend a similar forum), i woudl really appreciate it if he/she could respond.
Have great travels everyone!

GUEST23221 Hi all,

I have a criminal record for running poker games IN CHINA. I did not get deported because my wife is Chinese.

I am now, however, applying for working VISA and residency, and went to HK to apply for that. I went there today and answer "NO" to the criminal question.

Since the crime was in China, what are the chances of this being flagged?

Also, later, when i get this visa, my company will request for my residency. When they do so, would then this show up?

The reason I worry is because even though I think i should be able to get the VISA, i need this to go smootly because my company doesnt know I have a criminal past, and they gave me only 2 days to be here in HK. In their eyes, i go today, request for rush service, and should have it by tomorrow. If for some reason, it gets flagged and they ask for my information, surely I wont have it by tomorrow, and wont be able to be back to work next Monday. Then i am afraid if either the HK immigration service would contact my company, or if my company starts to ask me question of why I am not back yet.

Anyone knows anything about this?

GUEST51161 I have a misdemeanor DUI from 2009 and checked yes when I applied for my tourist visa last winter. I simply attached an extra sheet explaining what had happened and how I had completed all my rehabilitation, etc and received my visa no problem. Not sure how it would affect a Z visa though.
