Giving birth in China

guest27155 Does anyone know the cost of giving birth in China? I have looked online everywhere and can find no info. We aren't worried about having an english speaking hospital as China seems to know better than any other country how to give birth. Thanks for any info that anyone can provide!!

I think it depends on the city your stay and the hospital you choose. For example, I'm in Xian. And the cost of giving birth in a normal hospital is generally 1000~2000. If you have to take a Caesarean operation, the price may become 3000~5000. If you choose a better hospital with better sickroom and nurse, the price will be higher.

Are those prices valid for foreigners, or do they have to pay more? Do they have to use international standard hospitals, which are very expensive?

GUEST48165 Hi, i'm going to give birth in Guangzhou in less than three weeks now, in the mother and children hospital. It's a chinese hospital where they can speak basic english. The delivery itself will cost me between 3000 and 5000 rmb.
About epidural, I'm not sure you can get one in a chinese hospital, although I didn't ask the doctor about it. But I talked with a few chinese woman, and they didn'nt seem to know what I was talking about.

Bye
Ps: sorry if any mistake I'm french.
