Bird flu outbreak in Guangzhou

According to the news, the ministry of Agriculture confirmed on Monday that the sub-type of H5N1 bird flu outbroke in Panyu District in Guangzhou. A great number of duck died of the disease. Till yesterday, about 36130 ducks have been buried.

Luckily, it is said that no further death of fowls have been reported and the situation has been under control. Since 2003, about 25 human cases of the bird flu have been reported and 16 of them died.

Yes, Vegetarian is OK. In India many peoples are vegiterian.

And we have foot and mouth here in the UK again, but it's not going to stop me eating meat as long as it's cooked properly.

But I've heard that the price of duck rised a lot in HK. Maybe there's no bird flu threaten in HK?

May, it is because almost all the 'live' poultry in HK are imported from South China, and HK is stopping the imports, thus people are paying high for the remaining stock. "Live" poultry are so important to people here, they like to have fresh food.
