GUESTLEE In Shanghai - I want to find the out of the way places to go to - not tourist traps per se but places where you and buy chinese goods at a great bargain - aritifacts - I also will want to ship some things back via Fedex and will need help with that as well. We are interested in the night life and what there is to offer - I hear that the Bell Tower is a good place to be on New Years Eve.

Hi Guestlee,

I have a room available in Beijing which is only 20 minutes of walk to Tienanmen Square and 10 minutes to the newly opened subway. Currently there is a German lady living with me but she will leave in Dec. so I have a room available. Please let me know if you are interested in experiencing inexpensive, home stay accommodation. Further details can be discussed if you're!

Thanks!

The "Bell Tower" mentioned above should be the Longhua Temple and Pagoda. There's a bell-tolling ceremony yearly on New Year's Eve, very crowded.
