![]() | An expert of Artificial Intellectural forecasts that human can fall in love with and get married with a robot someday in the near future. It is very hopefully to become "reality "in 2050, a report from China Daily says. The development of science and technology has dramatically changed our daily lives in the past several decades. However, the development of science and technology has also poised serious challenges to human kind. The invention of nuclear weapons (atomic bomb) render us live in the fear of nuclear deterrent. The development of clone skills challenged our traditional norms and values. Suppose the science and technology is developed enough for you to marry a robot. Will you do that? |

![]() | Cant see it happening for me, a robot would nener be able to give me the same feelings and emotions as my girlfriend. Although the robot could get a cup of tea and cook the breakfast to save me doing it. |

![]() | Sunnydream, LOL relax, its a joke. I had a thought running through my mind during that first post that the metallic surface of a robot would be cold and just threw in a juvenile superficial American term for beautiful women to support my joke. But to answer your question correctly, the trait that I would most value in a wife is patience, understanding and values love, marriage, family and children, and my dog (I'm serious, my dog is pretty cool). ![]() | Very Cute, The trait that I would most value in a wife is patience, understanding and values love, marriage, family and children, and my dog . So, you mean that anyone who wants to become your wife, firstly she has to be kind and nice to your dog. You are a critical man. |

![]() | MirandaZhao, If this was an American forum, I would just answer with a lazy “yeah” but in that same breath if this was an American forum your question probably wouldn’t come up. But seeing as we are all learning as we evolve and understanding each others cultures is something to be valued, I will take a few minutes before I feed my dogs breakfast to explain why I added “my dog” to the short list of wants in this hypothetical wife. Here in America, dog ownership is restricted to ones own capabilities such as economics, living situations and commitment. In a land where we dub the dog “mans best friend” there is a HUGE industry serving this pet. Much like there is a huge industry serving babies. Let me make this clear, I am not trying to say that both are the same, babies are much more important. But where else in the world do you got doctors who treat dogs, dog sitters/walkers for those of us who leave town frequently, lol DOG WHISPERERS and dog groomers Much like how we have pediatricians, Nannies, psychiatrist and stylists for babies. Even abusing your dog can land you in a legal bind much like what you would run into with social workers that suspect physical abuse in a home. Dogs have a huge part in American life and we spend lots of time and money on them. The fees are endless, breeder fees, first round of shots that are part of vaccinations, registration into county records the list goes on and on. Even after all these troubles of dog ownership, you will find that 3/5 Americans own a dog (the other 2 must be cats or no pets at all) and some own 2 or more. |

![]() | I am sure you guys there have dogs for pets as well but seeing as in the city you can head down to the local puppy mill pet shop and purchase a cute shaggy haired dog and then on the way home pick up some Wiener schnitzel meat for a winter stew (no offense intended) the view and place that the dog holds varies greatly between our two cultures. Even during my trip to Guangzhou I was constantly asked why amongst a picture frame of my family and friends that I kept with me contained a photo of my three dogs. But to answer your question: A trait we all desire in a spouse is some “kind and nice” and since she would be kind and nice, she wouldn’t have a problem getting a long with my dog because my dog is kind and nice as well. And if you read carefully, my dog was the last in that rant of qualities that I would want but he’s in there but not firstly. I feel kind of funny because I made this long post about dogs. But my family and I are pet loving family to the point that we don’t even use the label “dog” to insult anybody which says something because calling someone a dog in Chinese is pretty insulting. And what do you mean by “critical man”, MirandaZhao? What difference is there to be kind and nice to your husband’s dog and his friends? Yeah the dog is a pet but if you want to be a part of his life and be HAPPY, his family will be your family and his dog/friends will be as well, much like he would be willing to do the same for you. Damn, this post was about robots…. Danny (My dogs name is Quest, he will be turning three in December but in this picture he is 1.2 years old, but this is my favorite picture of him) ![]() |

![]() | Having a dog is like having children especially when you get them at very young age. I had a jack russell dog that was very inteligent and full of character, dogs can produce expressions, they learn, they love and they are always loyal and faithfull. Every day returning from work she was there, always ran to greet me even when she was old and not feeling well. Sadly she was put to sleep 2 weeks ago as she had cancer, I was devastated as I had her for 15 years and she was just like a person. Dogs live and breath just like humans and we get emotionally attached exactly the same. Robots can learn to simulate humans but there will never be the emotional side that you experience with a living being. They can do tasks for us but there will always be a void that must be filled by a human, so no I wouldnt marry one. Unless it looked exactly like Gong Li, then I might think about it. |
