GUEST11210	Hi, i am planning for a short visit later this month. arriving Kunming at about 11.00PM on 27th and leaving at 6.20 Pm on 29th. I know this is a short time but want to see Kunming/around. Is there any transport available after 11.00 PM for Lijiang/Dali? Any suggestions are welcome- want to see one place stay there and fly back...Lijiang is priority. Thanks in advance. Arriving so late into Kunming means the only options for traveling onto Lijiang that night are planes, as the last bus goes at 9.30pm and the last train to Dali at 11pm.
So you could try to book for flights that night to Lijiang. Though as it is Friday there don't seem to be any seats on flights later than 9.30pm. Flights back from Lijiang to Kunming on Sunday are priced from 280+50 tax, but expect to pay around 600 y for an afternoon flight.

The time table for Lijiang is at http://www.yunnanexplorer.com/transport/506241693/ You can find time-tables for many other Yunnan bus stations from the map posted on the site.

Actually, you can take a train back to Kunming from Dali. It leaves at 20:52 and arrives at 05:00.

The last bus from Dali Bus Station(大理汽车站) leaves at 19:30 and takes around 5 hours to Kunming.

Bus ticket: CNY 105.5.

Appreciate some direction to the train station to buy the ticket. Can I buy return ticket from Lijiang to Kunming at the same time? Can I buy local pre-paid phone card at the airport (or at the railway station)? Thanks

7:00 am or 7:00 pm? I suggest you buy the train ticket in advance. Dali and Lijiang are two popular tourist cities. I am not sure you can get the train ticket when you arrive.
