| Temperatures will be down to around freezing at night. The biggest problem is that most buildings have no heating so evenings can be miserable (I assume best hotels are heated but I don't know). Buy your clothing here as it is much cheaper and you can decide what you need as you experience the weather. You can choose good quality to keep or buy cheap stuff to discard. Most locals wear thick long sleeved or legged underwear. Personally, I will head to Hainan which will stayb reasonably warm :), much nicer than layers of clothes! |

| Long johns, sweater, good down coat. You need at least 3 layers, plus extras like gloves, beanie and scarf. |

It seldom snows during the winter in Shanghai. If it snows, the temperature won't be very low. And it is said that the winter is not as long as other places. |
