Dave - I believe Halloween has its origin in Ireland and was bought over to America by Irish/Scottish immigrants. It's related to All Saints Day & good harvest.

GUEST41171 This is a great snack, I replace white wine with chicken stock, deep fry the pumpkin til plyable, this is easier the thinner you slice it, when tender, coat with the egg yolk mixture! taste awesome! I learned this while visiting Shanghai it is very popular there.

Cool! I didn't have a chance to visit Shanghai. Can you show me a photo of this amazing dish even though I have learned how to cook it?
