Do you know the Madrid train bombing on Mar.11st in 2004. About 191 people were killed and more than 1800 got wounded in that disaster. Yesterday, the Spanish court delivered the verdict. Moroccan Jamal Zougam and Spaniard Emilio Suarez Trashorras were sentened to more than 40000 years' imprisonment. It is said that there are 28 suspects who are involved in this matter and seven of them were free from the punishments because of the lack of evidence. What's more, those dependants of the victims would get 20000 to 1500000 Euros for compensation.

More than 40000 years' imprisonment? Why not end their lives instead of putting them in the prison for that long time? We all know that they will not live for that long.

In Spain it is not possible to keep anyone in prison for longer than 40 years. Those judgements were only symbolical, to keep in minds how serious crime they had committed. And, perhaps there, like here in Finland, is possible to get time less with good behaviour and so on. To take 1000 years away to reward good behaviour would not change anything.
