GUEST56260	I am looking at a possible contract in shenzhen in Sep for 6 - 12 months. I am coming from Canada, but alas do not speak any Chinese as I am of European stock (Irish). Whats the best places to stay/live? etc My housing will be paid for, and a monthly income of 185,000 CNY, as I am an expert with a lot of experience in my field. Where should I live, etc etc etc? Advice greatly appreciated.

I would like to live in a good area such as Shekou, a 3 beroom apt, scholling for th kids, helth insurrance, car, food, etc... Can anyone help me by telling the average monthly cost I´ll have. Thank you much Mario

If you rent a 3 bedroom apt, it costs about rmb4,000-5,000 per month. And the average consumption level per one in Shenzhen is RMB 1,380 in 2010. I'm not clear about the schooling thing for international students, but should cost more than the domestic students.
