Please advice the best travel mode from Beijing to Ningbo

guest02147 Hi,

Can any one help me in identifying the best travel mode from Beijing to Ningbo. Unfortunatley all the flight from Dubai ( from where i m coming from) has a long stop over in Beijing, if i plan to go by air.

Please also advice approximate cost of travel from Beijing to Ningbo by Train and Bus.

Also can you advice what is best to see and do when in Beijing for 1 day or two most.

D1 Sightseeing Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City and Beihai Park. At evening go to Wangfujing.
D2 Sightseeing Badaling Great Wall and Imperial Tombs of Ming Dynasty. At evening go to Shichahai.
D3 Sightseeing The temple of Heaven and Summer Palace. At evening take by the train NO K255/258 (start 00:30, end 22:58, distance 1827 km, Price Hard sleeper RMB 379 and soft sleeper RMB 584) from Beijing to Ningbo City.

Someone has just posted on another forum that the Ming Tombs seem to be closed for renovations?
And also, what's the point of posting a 3-day tour when this person can only afford 2 days at the max? Some people don't read properly before posting their reply?
I wouldn't dream of taking a bus for Beijing -- Ningbo, it's too far and won't be comfortable. Trains are a much better way to go.
However, the only Beijing -- Ningbo train takes 22h20min. That's really quite long. Sleepers cost anything from 355 to 584 RMB, depending on your choice of sleeper (hard/soft) and bunk.
Are you on a time constraint or financial limit? Because if you're not on a financial limit (ie can spend a bit more to go faster) then I'd suggest that you take the overnight trains (11.5 hours) Beijing -- Shanghai and then a fast T train Shanghai -- Ningbo for about 4 hours. You can sleep on the overnight trains so you don't lose any time.

Excuse me, there's no need to type in all capitals. It's the online equivalent of shouting and extremely rude. I presume you're here to REQUEST for information, not DEMAND for it.
Also please note that no one calls Guangzhou "Canton" any more. You living maybe 2 centuries ago?

GUEST04253 you can take a plane to Hangzhou first(hangzhou is the nearest city where you can fly to. Then Hangzhou-Ningbo,can take taxi as well as bus. Will be around $120 by taxi,and $12 by bus. Can find bus easily from hangzhou to Ningbo at the exit of airport.

Ningbo has its own airport, no need to fly to Hangzhou.
