| Canadaguy, it is reported that Sampras won the third game against Federer. I did not watch the TV programe. In your opinion, did Federer intentionally lose this game or Sampras win this game on his own? How do you view their next game in March in US? I guess that Federer won't give any chance to Sampras and he will win that game. |

| Look at those two guys, very cool, aren't they? After the match, Sampras teased Federer that he was very popular amongst women because Federer was selected as Men of the Year by GQ. However, Sampras felt sad for Federer that there are less tennis players who can compete with Federer and make him make more progress. Sampras also said that he felt very honored to have Agassi as his rival because he made great progress with the 'help' of Agassi. CANADAGUY, what do you think of Agassi? |

I guess that Federer won't give any chance to Sampras and he will win that game.<< You are asking some very good questions! I did watch the match that Sampras won. It wasn't obvious as to whether Federer let Sampras win it. There were quite a few points where Federer missed some really easy shots. Some of them came at critical moments in the sets and Sampras jumped ahead as a result. Some people view this Federer loss as a setup for the Madison Square Gardens match in March 2008. This way it creates more interest than it would had Federer won all three matches in the orient. So I guess the only one who knows for sure about that third match is Federer. :) Another important point about the third match is that it was played on the fastest tennis surface around today. It's even faster than grass. This allowed Sampras to have a distinct advantage over Federer because of Sampras' big serve. In addition to that, the commentators and fans noticed that Federer wasn't serving as hard as he normally does on his first serves. It looked like he was basically serving two second serves most of the time. This allowed Sampras to get into the match and eventually break Federer's serve. I think Federer will win the next match in March. But if they are interested in developing a long series of exhibitions that will last years and years (and earn them lots of money too) then Federer could actually throw the next match to really create interest. We will have to wait and see. :) On another note, I am hoping that Federer ties Sampras' grand slam total of 14 next year. |

Sampras also said that he felt very honored to have Agassi as his rival because he made great progress with the 'help' of Agassi.<< Sampras didn't really feel sorry for Federer. What he was actually doing was trying to take something away from Federer's greatness. He was trying to say something like this: "My Grand Slams are worth more than yours because I played against tougher opponents!" I don't believe that for a moment. Federer is playing againts opponents just as tough as those that Sampras played against, but because Federer is so much better than them it looks like they are low quality players. Tiger Woods is doing the same thing in golf now. The golf players are just as good as they were 10 or 20 years ago, it's just that Tiger is so much better than most of them that it looks like the players are weaker now. >>CANADAGUY, what do you think of Agassi? << I look at Agassi in a similar way to the way I look at Nadal. They both have what I consider 'ugly' styles of playing tennis. Both rely on brute force to get the job done. I much prefer players who use finesse and grace on the court. Federer is such a joy to watch because he is as smooth as silk on the court. Everything he does looks effortless. I also enjoy watching players who think and use different strategies on the court, like a chess game. I'm not trying to take anything away from Nadal's or Agassi's success. They both are extremely talented players and deserve what they have earned. I just generally don't enjoy watching them play, that's all. :) |

| Quote: The best way to learn about professional tennis is to watch a Grand Slam tournament. Thanks for your comments, CANADAGUY. I will try. Hope I can really talk about tennis with you and Kevin after I learn something about professional tennis.:-) Actually, I also like playing badminton like Kevin. But I just play it for fun, not competing with each other. And we seldom play badminton on the court. For these reasons, I haven't made any progress :-( |

| Sigh, I missed the match :-( It sounds very interesting and exciting. Quote: So I guess the only one who knows for sure about that third match is Federer. :) Exactly, CANADAGUY. I still think that Federer decided to let Sampras win the third match. You said that "he was not serving as hard as he normally does on his first serves. It looked like he was basically serving two second serves most of the time." That is the proof. I agree with you that Federer will win the next match in March. Also I believe that Federer will tie Sampras' grand slam total of 14 next year and surpass him. "I look at Agassi in a similar way to the way I look at Nadal. They both have what I consider 'ugly' styles of playing tennis. Both rely on brute force to get the job done. I much prefer players who use finesse and grace on the court." I just heard of these two tennis players and do not know them much. But I also like those who use their head to play tennis or football. You see, the reason why I do not like Germany is because they play football relying on their physical advantages. They are taller and stronger than other football players. I like Brazil, Spain, Portugal and Italy. I can see their finesse and grace on the football pitch and enjoy watching their matches. |

| >>Sigh, I missed the match :-( It sounds very interesting and exciting. << Kevin if you have a fast internet connection that can handle large downloads >250M, I can give you a web address where you can download the match that you missed. It is in excellent video quality. >>I like Brazil, Spain, Portugal and Italy. I can see their finesse and grace on the football pitch and enjoy watching their matches.<< Yes it is the same for me. It doesn't matter what the sport is that I'm watching. I still look for these same qualities if I am to enjoy it. |

| Thanks, CANADAGUY. I wonder if it is free to download that video. Quote: Yes it is the same for me. It doesn't matter what the sport is that I'm watching. I still look for these same qualities if I am to enjoy it. For the five European leagues (England, Spain, Italy, Germany and France), I like watching Spanish and Italian matches. There are many famous and talented footballers who have excellent football skills and use their heads to play on the pitch, such as Raul, Kaka, Ronaldinho, Messi etc. Very good! But most Asian fans like watching English premier league. I do not know why. However, they have to pay for watching English Premier League since this year. This made many fans annoyed. |
