1. Where can I stay affordably if I have only three days to spend? and 2. What is a MUST that I should see and do in these places? THANKS IN ADVANCE.

To stay affordably, you can choose a hotel by visiting the following links:

You can read attractions in Macau, Guangzhou and Shenzhen to visit some of them when you arrive.

Guangzhou: http://www.travelchinaguide.com/attraction/guangdong/guangzhou/
Shenzhen: http://www.travelchinaguide.com/attraction/guangdong/shenzhen/

Macau to Guangzhou:
1. take direct bus at Macau Tower, Grand Emperor Hotel or Grand Lisboa Hotel.
2. take AP1 bus to Gongbei, cross the border to reach Zhuhai. There you can take bus to Guangzhou.

Guangzhou to Shenzhen: take D trains at Guangzhou or Guangzhou East Railway Station to Shenzhen.

GUEST79177 I am initially GUEST79169. Just a follow-up question: Is three days enough for me to visit Macau-Guangzhou-Shenzen? If not, whats more feasible: Macau-Guangzhou or Macau-Shenzhen? I'd be applying for my visa before the week ends. Thanks again.

GUEST4489 Three days is enough if you just want to see these three cities.

If you do not want a hasty tour, you may omit Guangzhou. After staying in Macau for one day, you can take ferry directly to Shenzhen. It just takes around 1 hour. Then you can have much fun in Shenzhen, visiting Splendid China, China Folk Culture Villages, Window of the World and Shenzhen Happy Valley.

From Macau to Shenzhen, you can go to the Gongbei border, pass it and then take a bus from the nearby long-distance bus station to reach Shenzhen.
Here are some shenzhen tours for your reference: http://www.travelchinaguide.com/package/shenzhen.htm
