Hong Kong to Dongguan City, Chang'An?

Bus will be more convenient than train, as there's only 1 daily train, whereas there're many more bus departures.

GUEST54236	i have a plane schedule 10:40am from HKIA . I think I need to be there about 8:30 the latest for check in . I plan to stay in dongguan for the night so that it wont be long flight . what is the best option for me to travel ? IS there any transport that we can leave early and be @ airport on time? what time does the border opens. I am travelling light : 1 person + 1 luggage. thanks

get a train from hunghom in hongkong to louho border. this takes about 40minutes and at this time of writting costs 40 hk$.
when you cross the border the first place you will get to is the metro station and the bus station. from here you can use the metro (till about11pm) to get around shenzhen, or the bus station has many buses traveling all over guangdong and they leave generally every 20-30mins. sometimes pronounciation of the place you wish to travel to is tricky, so it's a good idea to have your destination written down to show at the bus station.
buses in china are efficent and comfortable.

the easiest way to get anywhere is by taxi. from dongguan to louhou border takes about 2 half hours and will cost around 300-400 rmb.
then get the train one stop along the hunghom line and directly outside the train station is the bus stop for the airport. buses leave every 15minutes and take 45 minutes. they don't stop and so will be as fast as a taxi and with hongkong prices so much cheaper........
