Aya, Mermaid,

reading your words I wonder which one of us really is condescending?
So now you are responsible for a nation of people? You already told them how you think they should be happy.....but I did not know that you carry the responsibility for them. That sounds like you believe they can? help themselves and that they need your great ideas.
I guess with the point of belief, you share the same opinion of a famous man who once said: Religion is poison!

and i read online that if you can take their pictures by giving them little gifts. Or how u can take photos without their knowing.
I am fed up.
I think we should respect them from the bottom of our heart not by such tricks.
I have been to Li Tang, eastern tibet, the cradle of Tibetan culture.

Jesus, Mermaid,

how can you be so narrowminded?
And why do you generalize everything?
For my part, I can say I met some of the friendliest people in Tibet and of course I asked them before taking any pictures. Some even encouraged me to take photos, even if it was not my intention. I was also invited to participate in some of their religious practice during a visit to a monastery.
So where is my lack of respect?????

By the way, I? not a buddhist, but still I can share the ideas and belief of other cultures without giving up my own belief.
Don? get to radical in your belief.
There are also christian extremists.....

well, ur msg is reassuring.
I met some tibetan kids on my way to Litang. They saw our car and ran to us to say hi. They were so lovely.
I said the above because i am narrowminded as u might guess, i said so because i could not forget their smiling faces long after my return.

Dear Mermaid,

I? honored to be allowed to talk to you, my majesty.....

........I did not realize I? talking to a royal person:-)
I actually meant the singular as "your" friend.
But you speak of yourself in plural, "our" friend.

Anyway, you said the 6th Dalai Lama met his gf (girlfriend???) somewhere?
Cool, I was not familiar with that. Tell me the story about that.
I hope you have a boyfriend, too, even before marriage if you are not too strict in your christian belief:-)

still your friend
