Ha Ha, thanks JIMMYB, I will be busy for a week studying all those :-) :-). I like缘木求鱼 the one about climbing trees to catch fish, I have heard it a few times before, ‘Hoping to master Chinese without making an effort is like climbing a tree to catch fish’. Not quite sure how climbing up trees to catch fish relates to缘分 though :-) :-).

You are welcome, Danny and Ralphh. Ralphh, you won't find 缘分 if you climb up trees to catch fish relates to 缘分. Why? No girls stand on the trees waiting for Mr. Right.

Jimmy mentioned 'pre-ordained relationship' as a possible mening. How many of these are we allowed Jimmy? Otherwise which one of my relationships was pre-ordained.... or do I have that pleasure to come? I hope against the odds it is the last option!

Google translated the characters into the word "fate" but based on the original post the word "chemistry" fits too. >>>...perhaps falling in love at first sight is because of chemistry? If it is chemistry alone this is the equation: chemistry = lust (perhaps there are rare exceptions) But it can also be chemistry + fate = love ...that is if you believe in fate. No one ever doubts the existence of "chemistry" but many doubt the existence of "fate."

Fate?I believe in it currently just because of reality around me.

Fate?I believe in it currently just because of reality around me. Li, you mean you didn't believe it before? What makes you change your mind?

ZOEY I didn't change my mind at all. What I mean was that the feeling was getting stronger and stronger than before.
