| Some say there is no such thing as love at first sight. It is called physical attraction which is very different from love. Chemistry means there was already some sort of interaction and the two found that they have a lot in common or that they click. |

When two strangers look at each other at first sight, they pay much attention to their physical appearance rather than his/her temperament. Of course, you can't know his/her temperament at first sight. Love at first sight actually is physical attraction. |

| LIZXLI, agree. It is hard to understand 缘分 thoroughly. It is strange. When you are trying hard to look for it, you are not likely to find it at last. On some occasions, it just falls on you suddenly. |

| Hey, Danny. As far as I know, there is no equivalent for 缘分 in English. We just translate it according to the context. Some people translate 缘分 to predestined relationship, serendipity, predestination or karma. Personally, I prefer predestined relationship and serendipity. In Chinese, predestined relationship means 注定的关系 (literal translation). To my understanding, 缘分 is a kind of predestined relationship. You and he/she are destined to meet, fall in love and get married one day even though you are not together at the moment. The one you love is ahead of you and you just need to find him/her. For serendipity, as I have said, when you are trying hard to look for it, you are not likely to find it at last. On some occasions, it just falls on you suddenly. Since it falls on you suddenly sometimes, serendipity is suitable. Note: This is just my understanding. I am not a translator or language expert. |
