| GUEST17126 | Hi, you can also fly to Zhangjiajie and take a train or bus from there. I have done both in September. The train was about 2 hours to Jishou, and from there you can either take a taxi (120 yuan we paid) or minibus (taxi took less than an hour, it is very close but the road is partly very narrow, but there is a motorway close to Jishou). The disadvantage was that most of the beautiful part (close to Jishou) was in tunnels. The bus from Zhangjiajie went directly to Fenghuang, it took exactly 4 hours, beautiful ride but a bit scary as the road is narrow and there are lot's of curves and villages and people for the driver to pay attention to. As far as we could understand there were only two connections per day by bus, one early in the morning and one at 2 p.m., though I don't remember exactly could be 30 minutes sooner or later.The train by the way goes all the way to/from Changsha, so you could also fly there, but it will take much longer. Wonderful town Fenghuang, there were lot's of guesthouses and if you go by bus the touts will wait for you where the bus drops you off. |

| Direct bus costs 61 RMB and takes about 4-4.5 hours. Departures at 0830 and 1430. |
