A popular belief among Chinese people is that " French people are the most romantic", Paris is the indisputable Hub of Romance. I overheard a conversation between two foreigners in this Spring Festival. They talked about Asian people. Their common opinion is that Asian people are not romantic. They insisted that Asian people are too work-alcoholic and don't know how to enjoy life. All the year around, Asian people bear "making money" in their mind. What do you think to Asian people mainly Chinese people? Aren't they romantic at all? Which country's national is the most romantic?

It’s a tight competition between the following: 1. Loveland 2. Amour'e Islands 3. Kingdom of Romancia Ok, I made them up. Seriously, I don’t think there is a country or group of people that can claim to be the most romantic. Every country and every culture has its own brand and expression of romance. Everything else is just marketing strategy. ^_^"

Agree with Marrie. What is the connotation of Romance? Does it mean that we do nothing everyday but flirt with someone? We all live a life of being a playboy? That could exist but only in fairy tales.

I understand MARRIE's confusion...because I do not consider myself to be especially "romantic" and yet while on the way to Guilin this trip our driver/friend commented that I was very romantic. I guess it is because I buy my gal flowers every few weeks. ...if that is all that it takes to be romantic, perhaps I have French or Italian heritage that I do not know about ;-) Perhaps being romantic has a lot to do with being thoughtful enough to make an ordinary day special. ???

Yes Griz that could be called romantic...or it could be called 'having learnt your lessons the hard way'!! I always hated the idea of flowers and chocs - that's sexist and 'buying' a woman. But these days..... I have become 'romantic'!

I totally agree with Griz! "Being romantic has a lot to do with being thoughtful enough to make an ordinary day special. " I have heard a popular belief held by many female acquaintances: " men have have little gift in creating romance". Their opinion is that men are more pragmatic. Is this true?

It is unwise to generalize a group of people. Every people has its own way of being romantic. The romance celebrated in a group may be not romantic at all in another group's eyes.

jajaj a girl that ask me what means be romantic i think she does not need a romantic boy beside (as she will be not romantic)..... can be any culture have their way to be romantic...but some are more successful than others ways....day by day this is a more globalized world.... according to some german friends (women) south europeans are more romantic than north europeans....but i think is all matter of taste.
