Chinese viewers want to see the brilliant and vivid performances staged by some superstars, but usually to their disappointment, some of the stars made fake performance. Lip-synching is a popular form. According to sources, Chinese Hollywood actress Zhang Ziyi was accused of lip-synching during the annual Spring Festival evening gala broadcast live last Wednesday night. Zhang, 29, an internationally acknowledged Chinese actress who made her name with the martial arts blockbuster "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" and with "Memoirs of a Geisha" and The Road Home , lit up the stage with a pink outfit that drew envious gasps from ordinary girls. She sang the song "Fairy Scattering Flowers," which was specially composed for me. She is suspected of lip-synching. Some insiders of show-biz said that "Lip-synching at the gala is a tradition." Well, should the viewers be fooled by fake performance. Poor audience wants to see the real performance not lip-synching. What do you think of lip-synching?

APAULT Points: Join Date: Mar 11, 2006 Status: Offline	Surely this is normal internationally. I understood performers don't usually sing in such conditions. The CD recordings involve many retakes and precise sound effects which cannot be recreated in the theatre or open air. Also, many performers are not as good at singing as we might think and depend on a lot of electronic enhancement.

People just didn’t realize that celebrities usually do not have a lot of say in what they are supposed to do in front of cameras. It’s the producers, directors and handlers who have the last say. They just do what they’re told. A little bit misdirected criticism hmm….
