I have just been to a Chinese restaurant here in UK with a friend of mine. She ordered and said she would surprise me with new food. We have ribs cooked in a sticky sauce and she told me it was called fei zai guo ( sorry no tones) Can anyone tell me exactly what I had and how I can go about cooking it myself. It really was delicious meal.

Hi, Are you sure you got the right name "Fei Zai Guo"? It's really hard to understand, did the ribs cook in sweet-and-sour sauce?

I got her to write it down, maybe i should get it in chinese characters. It was small ribs in a sticky sauce which tasted a bit like hoi sin sauce

Sounds very fatty.... Which Chinese regional cuisine is that dish from? Usually the ribs are the Jiangsu speciality, Wuxi Guo, Zhengjiang Guo, or Sanfengqiao soy spareribs... all slightly sweet and sour, prepared with Zhejiang vinigrette, cane sugar and soy. But that one might be simply made with HP sauce??
